$19,229 for Wahgunyah Men's Shed from Veteran and Community Grants Programme
Federal Independent Member for Indi Cathy McGowan has welcomed the provision of $54,640.58 for projects in Wodonga, Wahgunyah and Corryong under Round 2 of the Veteran and Community Grants Programme.
The Wahgunyah and District Men’s Shed Incorporated will receive $19,229.53 to purchase equipment to expand the programs provided to members.
“I was thrilled to be able to confirm this substantial grant with committee member, Mr Tony McMahon,” Ms McGowan said.
“This money supports an important project that will make a big difference to the lives of members who access activities, programs and services that help reduce social isolation.
“I congratulate everyone associated with the Wahgunyah and District Men’s Shed for their hard work in realising this project and wish them well in building upon their existing programs to support members’ needs.”
The Veteran and Community Grants Programme provides seed funding for those project that promote a healthy and quality lifestyle for members of the veteran community while assisting them to remain living independently in their own homes. The programme also funds initiatives that support carers and improve access to community services.
