$33,726 for Corryong RSL Sub-branch from Veteran and Community Grants Programme

Federal Independent Member for Indi Cathy McGowan has welcomed the provision of $54,640.58 for projects in Wodonga, Wahgunyah and Corryong under Round 2 of the Veteran and Community Grants Programme.

The Corryong RSL Sub-branch will receive $33,726.05 to refurbish the clubrooms’ roof for the safety and benefit of members and the Corryong veteran community.

“I was thrilled to be able to confirm this substantial grant with the secretary of the Corryong RSL Sub-branch, Mr Greg Nankervis,” Ms McGowan said.

“This money supports an important project that will make a big difference to the lives of veterans who access activities, programs and services through the RSL Sub-branch.

“I congratulate everyone associated with the Corryong RSL for their hard work in realising this project and wish them well on its timely completion.”

The Veteran and Community Grants Programme provides seed funding for those projects that promote a healthy and quality lifestyle for members of the veteran community while assisting them to remain living independently in their own homes. The programme also funds initiatives that reduce social isolation, support carers and improve access to community services.

Funding decisions are made on an ongoing basis. For information about applying for the programme go to https://www.dva.gov.au/consultation-and-grants/grants/grant-and-bursary-programs/veteran-and-community-grants
