Local, Independant and Effective

A Very Busy Weekend

Posted July 03, 2013

Well, what a busy weekend it has been across Indi as Cathy’s campaign really starts heating up!

Cathy criss-cross the electorate in her car (we are still waiting on the campaign van - stay tuned) and spoke to a raft of local residents and supporters.

On Friday she visited Wodonga West Primary School and toured the facilities with school Principal, Ms Jocelyn Owens.

Education, as we have stated before, is one of Cathy’s pet passions and she enjoyed talking with Ms Owens about the state of education Wodonga.

It wasn’t only Cathy though that was active this weekend, as we had a myriad of events and activities drawing people from as far away as Melbourne up to the region.

All up we had over 90 people engaged directly with us in meetings, briefing sessions and working on the campaign.

This included badge making and social media workshops in Wodonga, volunteer briefings in Corryong and in Wangaratta, Susan Benedyka from the Regional Development Company, facilitated a briefing session for 26 people to discuss strategies and opportunities.

It was all capped off by Tony Windsor’s show of support for Cathy on ABC’s Insiders, which resulted in interest from all around Australia.

As the campaign builds momentum we are forever grateful to the support we are getting from everyone involved, in all it’s forms. Whether people are donating money, time or resources, it is so appreciated. Thank you!
