Albury Wodonga partnership a win for community action
Independent Member for Indi Cathy McGowan has congratulated Wodonga and Albury City Councils on a collaboration that could open significant opportunities for the region.
“This historic decision will place Albury Wodonga in an ideal position to work with the government on decentralisation,” Ms McGowan.
“Wodonga with its rapid growth and development can come to the agreement as an equal partner.”
Ms McGowan welcomed the opportunity to work closely with Member for Farrer Sussan Ley.
“Albury Wodonga already works locally as one community. The cross border cooperation will benefit around 95,000 people by opening up opportunities for working with State and Federal governments.”
“It’s great to have this best-practice approach to regional development on display ahead of the inquiry into regional development and decentralisation hearing in Wodonga on 12 October.”
