Independent education review welcomed
Independent Member for Indi Cathy McGowan has welcomed the announcement of a review into education in regional Australia.
“For young people to stay in regional areas, they need access to education that leads to meaningful employment,” Ms McGowan said.
“The people of Indi have made education a clear priority. I will work with the community to ensure the needs of Indi’s young people are effectively represented in submissions to the review.”
Ms McGowan has invited the Assistant Minister for Vocational Education and Skills Karen Andrews to visit in May to discuss innovations in Indi providing pathways from education to employment.
"It is good to hear the government start talking about a national regional policy approach to important issues,” Ms McGowan said.
