Indi receives $2.5 million in infrastructure funding
Independent Member for Indi Cathy McGowan has welcomed the Federal Government’s investment of $2.4 million for the Wangaratta Turf Club in the first round of grants from the Building Better Regions Fund.
The grant will allow an immediate start on the turf club’s $6.2 million redevelopment to improve accommodation and facilities for equine students, new stables and a new grandstand.
“Congratulations to the Wangaratta Turf Club led by chief executive Paul Hoysted. They have put in the hard work over the past five years to attract this funding and have persisted even when they missed out on previous rounds of the National Stronger Regions Fund,” Ms McGowan said.
“Together with the $125,000 for Huon Reserve at Lake Hume, Indi is clearly on the federal government’s radar. I welcome today’s visit to Wangaratta by Victorian Nationals Senator Bridget McKenzie to make the announcement on behalf of the Minister for Regional Development, Senator Fiona Nash.”
