Win for local truckies
Owner-drivers in Indi had a win this week with Cathy supporting the Government’s repeal of the Road Safety Remuneration Tribunal (RSRT). Cathy delivered two speeches in support of the Government Road Safety Remuneration Repeal Bill 2016, which passed in record time in the House and the Senate. There had been strong community support for getting rid of the RSRT in the wake of the controversial Contractor Driver Minimum Payments RSRT Order. Many owner-drivers contacted Cathy calling on her to take action. Cathy is committed to putting Indi first when voting on important legislation, and being a strong advocate for small business. She is proud to represent the many small transport businesses in Parliament. Video

Honouring the fallen
Cathy encourages everyone to take part in their local ANZAC Day commemorations on Monday, April 25. North East Victoria has a strong military history, and soldiers from Indi have made significant contributions to Australia’s involvement in conflicts.
July 2 pencilled in
Everything is on track for a July 2 election. It's the right decision by Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull, ending speculation about the election date. The people of Indi will have a clear choice for the future when they cast their vote. Indi matters, and in 2013 Cathy committed to always putting Indi first. Cathy is proud to be the representative for Indi and have the opportunity to act in the interests of people to make communities stronger.
Indi a magnet for ministers
Cathy welcomes Treasurer Scott Morrison MP to Indi tomorrow for the Wodonga Chamber of Commerce luncheon. Mr Morrison will be the latest MP to visit the North East Victoria. Assistant Minister for Health and Aged Care, Ken Wyatt AM MP, and Minister for Defence Materiel, Dan Tehan, recently visited the area meeting with various groups.
