 Indi Summit nears

Cathy is calling on everyone to be part of the vision for Indi. The Indi Summit is being held on Saturday October 24 at the Lakeside Community Centre in Benalla. This is an exciting opportunity for people to come together to have their say about the future of Indi. More than 1600 people have already given input to two Budget Impact Tours, the Kitchen Conversations and Get in Cathy’s Ear Postcard campaign. People have identified the key issues affecting our region. These will be covered in four topics:

  • Economic Prosperity
  • Quality Access to Essential Community Services
  • Sustainable Environments
  • Confident and Vibrant Communities

The event is free – please register to attend here. Spread the word among family, friends and colleagues – in particular young people – and gather up a carload for the Summit!

NBN bringing internet access to rural areas

Today’s launch of Sky Muster, NBN’s first national broadband satellite was welcomed by Cathy: “This will bring much better internet capability to rural and remote parts of Indi.” A second satellite will be launched in the first half of next year to provide further coverage. Cathy stressed that households should take up NBN’s long-term satellite offer during the roll-out phase.

 Benalla Gold Cup tomorrow

Cathy will be enjoying the exciting atmosphere of the Benalla Gold Cup tomorrow and urges people to “get out and about” and help Indi businesses kick goals this Friday. “It’s going to be a sunny and summery weekend so make the most of the public holiday. There’s a holiday in NSW on Monday after the NRL Grand Final so it’s important to take the opportunity to shop and support local.”

Lots of feedback from the North East

The friendly orange Cathyvan made a welcome visit to Kiewa, Cudgewa and Corryong on Tuesday. Cathy heard from numerous citizens about issues ranging across telecommunications, roads and transport and thanked the large number of people who came to meet her. These included Grace and Genevieve Middleton and cousins Chloe and Ben Sampson (pictured) visiting from Albury with their mum for the school holidays.
