June roundtable should focus on key cross Border issues
Federal Independent Member for Indi, Cathy McGowan has welcomed a visit to Albury-Wodonga next month by the Minister for Small and Family Business, the Workplace and Deregulation, Craig Laundy to take part in a cross Border roundtable.
Ms McGowan said standardising requirements for Responsible Service of Alcohol certification in Victoria and NSW was a key issue that could be addressed by the roundtable in Wodonga on 12 June.
“My recent discussions with Wodonga Council have highlighted how important it is to make progress on this matter,” Ms McGowan said.
“I am keen for Minister Laundy to join the roundtable in Wodonga with local government and business representatives; the NSW Cross-Border Commissioner, James McTavish; the Victorian Minister for Small Business, Philip Dalidakis; and the Deputy Premier of NSW, John Barilaro.
“I would also commend to the roundtable participants a report by the Master Builders Association from 2016, entitled Building in a Cross Border Region, which outlined the challenges faced by builders operating simultaneously in NSW and Victoria.”
