McKoy Street update
Independent Member for Indi Cathy McGowan says it’s important to find a speedy resolution to the impasse over the McKoy Street intersection with the Hume Freeway at Wodonga.
Ms McGowan said she would welcome the opportunity to work with the National Party and has already spoken to the office of Deputy Prime Minister Michael McCormack.
“I confirm the advice received that while McKoy Street intersects with a national highway, it is an entirely Victorian Government planned and funded upgrade.
“Given ongoing representations from road users about the safety of this intersection, it’s important the Minister for Infrastructure and Transport be included in discussions with the Victorian Government and VicRoads to identify an ultimate solution for the intersection.
“VicRoads is undertaking a planning study to consider a number of improvement opportunities for the Hume Freeway at Wodonga.
“The Minister’s office advised that community consultation would occur as part of the planning study, and will include concept designs for the longer term solution for this intersection. I would encourage all members of the community to participate and contribute to this consultation process.”
