Renovation ahead for 93-year-old Bright building
Bright RSL Sub-Branch will be upgrading its kitchen facilities with the assistance of Federal funding.
Independent Member for Indi Cathy McGowan congratulated the organisation for securing the funding of $33,525.
“I applaud the members of the Bright RSL Sub-Branch for the work they have put into this project,” Ms McGowan said.
“The works will ensure the 93-year-old building is well looked after and of greatest use to the community in the years ahead.
“I look forward to seeing the end result.”
The upgraded kitchen will create opportunities for on-site catering for RSL functions, other community groups and special functions such as weddings and funerals.
The grant is part of a $90,000 project to repair and improve the historic RSL building which dates back to 1923.
The funding comes from the Veteran and Community Grants Program, which is administered by the Department of Veterans’ Affairs.
