Singapore High Commissioner visit to share renewable energy solutions
Independent Member for Indi Cathy McGowan has welcomed the High Commissioner of Singapore His Excellency Mr Kwok Fook Seng to North East Victoria to learn about local climate change projects.
“This is an extraordinary opportunity for building relationships between Indi and Singapore, which is renowned for innovation in renewable energy,” said Ms McGowan.
“His Excellency will be able to learn from about exciting community energy projects being showcased during the visit such as the mini-grid partnership with North East Water and Totally Renewable Yackandandah.”
The High Commissioner was formerly the Climate Change Minister for Singapore.
Ms McGowan congratulated the North East Water, Rural City of Wangaratta, North East Regional Sustainability Alliance, and Australian National University for making the most of the High Commissioner’s visit.
“People in North East Victoria are concerned about climate change and are stepping up to develop local solutions to tackle the problem. As their local independent representative, I’m thrilled to be able to provide the connections to enable events like this.”
