CSU working on regional policy: The team from the Institute for Land, Water, and Society at Charles Sturt University visited the Wodonga office to discuss vital research being done at the Wodonga and Wangaratta campuses. Congratulations to our young people who have received university offers this week.

Call for debate Bill to detail rural and regional Budget impacts

Cathy introduced a Private Members Bill into the parliament in October to ensure rural and regional impacts are detailed in budgets and budget updates. 

New electorate officer Steve Cooper joins Wangaratta office

A warm welcome to Steve Cooper who has joined Team Cathy. Steve replaces Elise Wenden who was farewelled in December 2016 after two years in the role. He previously worked with Member for Murray Dr Sharman Stone. We are looking forward to working with Steve.

Cross border issues catch L & P Platers – working group proposed to solve the problem

Young people and their parents have this week highlighted the anomalies facing L & P plate drivers crossing the border between Wodonga and Albury. Janelle Boynton resigns from Hume RDA

Janelle Boynton, co-owner of Feathertop Winery, has resigned as Chair of the Regional Development Australia Hume Committee. Federally funded, RDA is a partnership between the Australian, state and territory and local governments to support the growth and development of Australia's regions. Congratulations to Janelle on the outstanding contribution she has made representing the local community through effective action.

Have a say in universal standards for telecommunications

The Productivity Commission has released a draft report into universal standards for telecommunications in Australia. Submissions are due by Friday 20 February.
