Communities benefitting from better coverage

Celebrating the 23rd and 24th of 47 new mobile phone towers in Indi were among the highlights this week. The towers provide up to 4GX coverage, helping people with their businesses, organisations and social lives. Thanks to the Yarck CWA and Highlands Hall Committee for fabulous catering! Stay tuned for details of more celebrations to come.

Partnerships bring funding for Indi’s Armistice commemoration projects

Next week commemorates 100 years since the end of World War One. $50,000 has been allocated for Indi projects under the Armistice Centenary Grants Program. Cathy will join Wodonga, Kiewa, Benalla, and Bright RSLs next week for their commemorations. Click on the names for more details.

photo: Strathbogie Shire Chief Executive Officer Steve Crawcour and Mayor Amanda McClaren joined their first Indi LGA Roundtable on Monday. As part of the redistribution, parts of Strathbogie Shire will be included in Indi when next year’s federal election is called.

LGAs meet for roundtable discussion

At the second Indi LGA Roundtable for 2018, council representatives presented Cathy with their priorities for funding. Other discussion points were the North East Rail Line upgrade and community projects. Details here.

Minister talks agriculture with locals

Agriculture Minister David Littleproud addresses 150 people at the North East Agricultural Dinner on Wednesday night. Topics included the Moss Review into live exports, Climate Change and drought. Thanks to the local governments for their support in facilitating the visit and the event!

Explore some of Questacon’s interactive science displays when the organisation hosts Pop Up events in Wangaratta on Thursday 9 November and Wodonga on Saturday 10 November.

Cathy will join Dr Jane Barratt, Secretary General of the International Federation on Ageing as a panellist at Yackandandah Health’s Ageing Well forum on 9 November. The forum will explore the challenges and joys of ageing well. Tickets and more details here.
