Childcare reforms must consider rural families

Proposed childcare reforms may mean mobile services such as that offered by Albury Wodonga Community Early Years Childcare may no longer be viable. Cathy will continue to work with the Minister’s office to seek a solution before the legislation is put before the Parliament.

Grants available for veterans’ projects to improve quality of life

Veterans’ groups throughout Indi can apply for grants for projects through the Commonwealth-funded Veteran and Community Grants program.

Wodonga pizza oven opening celebrates community and government partnership

The Wodonga community celebrated the official opening of an outdoor pizza oven at Belvoir Park on Thursday. The celebration coincided with an Aboriginal family day hosted by the Wodonga Aboriginal Network. The project, part funded by the Federal Government’s Stronger Communities Program, is the result of an effective partnership between Wodonga Council, the Wodonga Apex Club, and the state and federal governments.

The House of Representatives Standing Committee on Economics will conduct further public hearings with Australia’s four major banks from 3-8 March as part of its review of the performance of Australia’s banking and financial system. Watch the hearings live here 

Border Trust community grants

The Border Trust is inviting submissions from not-for-profit, community organisations in Wodonga, Indigo and Towong seeking to deliver community based projects within the region.
