Gabriella Toal, 15, from Allan's Flat, has been named an Australian Youth Ambassador for Rotary and accepted for the Rotary Youth Exchange. Gabby, in year 9 at Trinity Anglican College Albury-Wodonga, will spend the 2018 school year in Denmark. Thanks to Rotary District 9790, Rotary Club of Albury West for their support and sponsorship.

Local councils to meet with NBN for local roll-out solutions

Cathy has arranged a meeting with NBN and the Indi Telecommunications Action Group, which includes representatives from local councils, in November. Participants will discuss local challenges and solutions to the NBN rollout in Indi. The announcement follows the release of the first report from the inquiry into the roll-out

Community action puts Albury Wodonga in ideal place for decentralisation

The historic decision by Albury and Wodonga councils to enter a cross-border partnership will place the community in the ideal position to work with the government on decentralisation.

Regional development in spotlight in Wodonga 12 October

North East Victoria’s best-practice in regional development will be on display next week. Wodonga will host a public hearing of the inquiry into regional development and decentralisation on Thursday 12 October at TAFEspace, 158 Lawrence Street. All are welcome to attend. Communities from across Indi have contributed nearly 25% of all submissions!

NDIS services in North East Victoria launched

Cathy helped celebrate the launch of the Wangaratta office for LaTrobe Health, which is coordinating the NDIS across North East Victoria. There are permanent offices in Benalla, Wangaratta and Wodonga, with sites available by appointment in Corryong, Mansfield, Bright and Yackandandah. Headspace Day 9 October – what’s your mental health tip?

It’s Headspace Day on Monday 9 October 2017 as part of National Mental Health Week. Headspace are inviting people to share tips on how they take care of their mental health.  Learn more about Headspace Day here. The Albury Wodonga office of Headspace is at 155 High St Wodonga, call 02 6055 9555.

Program to empower women with disabilities

Women with disabilities are invited to join the Enabling Women Leadership Program on six Thursdays from November 2 at TAFEspace, 158 Lawrence St Wodonga. To register, email bridget.jolley@wdv.org.au or phone (03) 9286 7813.

  • Friday 13 October: Albury Wodonga partnership – special meeting at midday at the Cube, all welcome.
