Progress on childcare closures
Towong Shire and Wodonga TAFE have expressed interest in operating childcare services in Walwa, Bellbridge and Mitta from January 2019. Kergunyah remains under consideration by providers, with some families having found alternative childcare arrangements. Discussions are continuing about the future of the Baranduda centre.
Mobile phone coverage improved in Tintaldra
Congratulations to locals in Tintaldra, including Honor and Mark Auchinleck, and Mayor David Wortmann, for ensuring a tower was allocated in Tintaldra under the Federal Government’s Mobile Black Spot Program. The area is now enjoying improved mobile phone reception.
Park a project of partnership
Touring the Richardson Park project in Wodonga yesterday highlighted the great partnership between community, local, state and federal governments and private business. It is part of a $20m upgrade to Wodonga’s city centre.
Youth mental health first aid for Indigo Shire residents
Sign up for a free youth mental health first aid course to assist with the young people facing mental health challenges. The course is available to Indigo Shire parents and adults who work or volunteer closely with young people.
Have a say about Mental Health Royal Commission
Complete the survey to help shape the terms of reference for the Victorian Government’s Royal Commission into Mental Health. Submissions to the Royal Commission will be available later in 2019.
