Question about childcare closures
Following news of five childcare closures in Indi, Cathy urged Minister for Education the Hon Dan Tehan to convene an urgent roundtable to outline options for maintaining much-needed childcare services in rural communities. The roundtable will be held in Wodonga on Monday 17 December.
National Integrity (Parliamentary Standards) Bill 2018
Cathy this week introduced to Parliament a Private Member’s Bill calling for a Code of Conduct to be introduced for MPs and their staff. It is one of a pair of Bills to create a culture of integrity in Parliament and Australia. More here.

Truth-telling an important step towards constitutional recognition
Watch Cathy’s speech about the final report from the Joint Select Committee on Constitutional Recognition for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. The report was released this week and can be accessed here. Cathy has suggested the process of truth-telling is piloted in North East Victoria.
If not now, then when?
It's time for action on high speed rail for Indi and regional Australia. Watch as Cathy seconded a motion from Shadow Minister for Transport the Hon Anthony Albanese calling on the government to commit to high speed rail for Australia.
The push for high speed rail was followed up by Cathy’s question to Deputy Prime Minister, Michael McCormack MP, for an update on the government's response to the Regions at the Ready report and its recommendations for rural and regional Australia.
